Play Responsibly
This page applies to every Coquitlam Casino player, from first-time visitors to the Lobby to long-standing members of Coquitlam Rewards and the VIP Club. It applies throughout the life of your account, whether you play slots, Live Casino tables or Jackpots, and forms part of our Terms of Use.
A. Our commitment
We treat gambling as paid leisure, measured in time and money you can comfortably spare. It is not a source of income and it cannot solve debt. We hold ourselves to that standard and ask our players to do the same.
Every account comes with personal limits. Our team is trained to recognize changes in play that may indicate harm. Self-excluded players and those on a break never receive promotional offers. We accept only players located where local law allows online gambling, and we follow Canadian rules on age verification, identity checks and anti-money laundering.
B. Tools you control
The tools below sit in the settings area of your account. If you cannot find one, or would like our team to apply it for you, email us and we will act on your request.
Deposit, wager and stake caps
With a deposit limit, you cap how much you can deposit over a period you choose, such as a day, a week or a month. A wager limit restricts your combined betting over that same period, including bets placed with winnings. A stake limit fixes the highest amount allowed on any single bet or spin.
Once a limit is reached, the related activity is blocked until the next period begins. You can combine all three types for tighter control.
Reality checks and session alerts
A reality check is a pop-up reminder that pauses play at intervals you choose. It displays your session length and net result, then lets you continue playing, view your account history or sign out. Session alerts let you know once you reach a time limit you have set.
Taking time out
You can suspend your account with a cooling-off period of between 24 hours and 6 weeks. While it runs, deposits and play are blocked and no marketing messages are sent. A break cannot be shortened once started, so select its length with care.
Self-exclusion and account closure
Self-exclusion is for players who need a longer, firm stop. Your account remains locked for the full period you select, it cannot be reopened before the end, and all marketing to you stops, including Promotions and VIP Club invitations. Any other account we find linked to you is locked as well.
Account closure cannot be reversed. Before closure, any withdrawable balance is sent to a verified payment method. For added protection, we recommend combining self-exclusion with blocking software on your devices.
Identity and location checks prior to depositing for the first time
Deposits are accepted only after we have verified your identity and confirmed that local law allows play where you are. This keeps minors and ineligible players out. Full details are on our Verification and AML page.
C. Assessing your play
The self-assessment quiz poses a short set of questions on your recent play. Your answers remain private and the result is visible only to you. It takes a few minutes, and honest answers give the clearest picture.
Common signs that play is becoming a problem include:
- chasing losses or betting more to win back what has gone
- spending beyond what you intended, or borrowing money to continue playing
- hiding play or losses from people close to you
- becoming irritable or restless whenever you are not playing
- neglecting work, study, family or sleep
If several of these apply to you, set limits or pause your play now, and think about contacting one of the organisations below.
D. Free support services
These organisations offer confidential help at no cost. They are independent of Coquitlam Casino.
- Gamban / GamBlock: software that blocks access to gambling sites and apps on your devices.
- Gamblers Anonymous: peer support groups for anyone looking to quit gambling.
- GameSense: information and practical advice on safer play.
- GamTalk: an online community where people affected by gambling share experiences and support.
E. When limit changes apply
A lower limit applies immediately. An increase or removal comes into force after 24 hours, and your current limit remains active in the meantime. This delay gives you time to rethink a decision made on impulse.
Breaks and self-exclusion follow their own rule: once started, they run for the full period and cannot be ended early, whether by you or by our team.
F. Protecting minors
Coquitlam Casino is strictly for adults aged 19+. Age is verified before we accept any deposit, and any account belonging to a minor is closed. Our Age Verification page offers parents and guardians guidance on device controls and filtering software.
G. Contact
Our support team is reachable by email. To set limits, pause your play, self-exclude, talk about your play in confidence or send a general enquiry, email mail@coquitlamcasino.app. Requests to restrict an account take priority. The Your Privacy page describes how we treat the information you share.
